we are celebrating my sisters engagement tonight
thought i would show off the invites i designed and printed for her, just a simple design which i free hand in illustrator. two love birds celebrating with champagne (she got engaged over in france at the moet factory, really our can you top that?) and the champagne bubbles are love hearts of course.

Well, while i'm getting fatter my the day, more house progress has been happening to.
The man has been working hard, last week he was a carpenter and a bricklayer and finally all our windows are in, we might have a house in time for christmas.

what can happen in a weekend
• new kitchen cabinets installed
• remove old kitchen
• move the entire household into new room
• totally strip gyprock from existing house

give me a new set of feet and
a new husband (i think he is a little worst for wear)
aah nothing that a good sleep won't cure.

i ended up with a light earthy grey porcelain tile and a very speedy tiler, i couldn't be more happy!! and now that job is done, this week is about setting up camp in our new room so we can get started on the original part of the house - which will be completely gutted.
we cut a new access into the new room, the kitchen sink used to be here but will soon be the new hall way.

i'm having flooring issues
did you know tilers charge almost double to lay stone over normal tiles? well, so now i'm on the hunt for some new tiles and really only have a few days to decide, pick and order.
yesterday i was keen for a bluestone look-a-like tile that i found but today i'm thinking a fresh light grey tile would be nice...
...why do i do this to myself

apart from kitchens, flooring, babies, i'm also thinking about a built-in storage unit to run along a wall in the living area, something to match in with the kitchen...
...should it be floating, the same height as the kitchen bench, all white, white with oak veneer top or oak veneer with white top, doors, drawers, open...

last week i had my 18-20 week scan

it was the annual 50's fair today at rose seidler house. jammed pack as usual, the weather couldn't have gotten any better but what goodies did i bring home? nothing, things are getting a little pricey or the sellers are hiking the price up for the day? but the best part of the day was the strawberry gelato, mmmmm.

kitchen, kitchens, kitchen...
the last time i spoke about kitchens i really wasn't sure what i wanted but since then i have made my mind up and have talked to my cabinet maker friend who will be making my kitchen.
i have decided on white polyurethane, the lower cupboards/drawers will have little hook handles, while the upper cupboards no handles. for the benchtop and splashback, i'm going with corian in a white, i just love the feel and look of corian. you might be thinking that is a lot of white but for my island bench, that will be wrapped in one piece of oak veneer with a white wash (still yet to see the sample but sounds and looks good in my mind).
i'm pretty dame sure that's what i'm going with...

things got a little messy over the weekend, we stripped two rooms of gyprock and oh boy that is messy stuff, also some new frame work got done.
the first image is the nursery, not so cosy for for a baby at the moment but hopefully we will get there.
